WHAT ARE THE COURSES OFFERED BY IHM RANCHI?

IHM Ranchi offers degree, diploma, craftsmanship and skill development courses to cater to the needs of various categories of students across different strata of the society.

HOW TO APPLY?

For NCHMCT JEE:

● Students seeking admission in B.Sc. H&HA degree course can apply for Joint Entrance Examination conducted by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology.

For Direct Admission:

●B.Sc. H&HA: In case of vacant seats are available after the allotment post JEE, direct admissions are announced by the institute through its website.
●Diploma: Eligible students may send their application along with requisite documents to the institute.
●Skill Development course (Hunar Se Rozgar Tak): Eligible students may send their application along with requisite documents to the institute.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION?

Admission through JEE:

Applicants are required to successfully complete in the examination of 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subjects. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in Joint Entrance Examination on provisional basis. Provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having successfully completed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counseling or at the time of admission. Admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/ documents to be produced by the candidates at the time of Counseling and at the time of admission in the Institute. Even after admission to an Institute, if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of having submitted false information or testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his/her admission will be cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited. Decision of National Council in this regard shall be final.

Direct Admission:

• B.Sc. H&HA: 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent having secured not less than 50% marks with English as one of the compulsory subjects. Applicants are required to submit the application form and documents to the institute. Admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/ documents to be produced by the candidates. if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of having submitted false information or testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his/her admission will be cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited.
• Diploma: It is open to 12th pass students of +2 system who must have studied English language as one of the subjects.
• Skill Development course (Hunar Se Rozgar Tak): Eligibility ranges from 5th pass to 12th pass for different trades.

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION

Medium of instruction is English.

IS THERE ANY CAPITATION FEE?

No. There is no capitation fee. You only need to pay tuition and other fees which have been mentioned in the fee schedule. For more details please click here.

WHAT IS THE DURATION OF THE COURSE? PROGRAMS?

IHM Ranchi provides various Programs in hospitality trades, which includes short term programs of 3 months duration to full time programs of 03 years duration.

HOW DOES THE COLLEGE ADMISSION PROCESS WORK?

For NCHMCT JEE

The candidate may apply online for the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by NCHMCT, based upon the ranking in the Joint entrance Examination the candidate may opt for choice of college he/she wishes to take admission in.
After the successful completion of the online counseling process by NCHMCT and receiving of allotment letter for the respective institute the student is required to report at the reporting centre and then after to the respective college as per the admission calendar issued by the NCHMCT.

For Direct Admission

The institute releases an advertisement in the news paper along with admission notification on the official website of the institute. Interested and eligible candidates may submit the application form along with requisite documents at institute by post or in-person.

HOW SHALL I FIND OUT IF I AM ADMITTED?

Through NCHMCT JEE:

You will receive an online confirmation and you will be able to download the allotment letter from NCMHCT website. Details about accommodation / hostel, orientation and the steps you need to take in order to prepare for your studies will be available on the institute’s website.

Through Direct Admission:

Merit list of the eligible students shall be released on official website of the institute, same will also be displayed on institute’s notice board.

I'M CURENTLY AN ENROLLED IHM STUDENT. CAN I MIGRATE TO OTHER IHM IN THE COUNTRY?

NCHMCT does not allow inter-institute transfer/ migration of the students.

HOUSING / HOSTEL ACCOMODATION

IHM Ranchi provides three bedded hostel accommodation (separate for boys and girls) with all standard civic amenities and common cooking and laundry areas. Interested students should submit their request as soon as possible, because requests are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis, and rooms fill up quickly.

HOW DO I ARRANGE FOR A CAMPUS VISIT?

Tour of campus, are available throughout the calendar year. Tours are held on the hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Prior request/appointment for campus visit is mandatory. Before making your travel arrangements you could take a prior appointment from the institute’s official to make it more personal to you.
